What is low-voltage rough-in?
Rough-in is the work that must happen while walls and ceilings are open: sleeves, boxes, cable pulls, and firestop coordination at rated walls. If it is missed, the trim-out crew is fishing cable through finished surfaces and the superintendent is absorbing delay.

- Who owns firestopping?
- Firestop responsibility should be written in the spec. Atkins Tech Solutions coordinates firestop at rated walls on commercial low-voltage penetrations and will not leave open sleeves for the punch list to discover.
- How do electrical contractors hand off box locations?
- Atkins Tech Solutions reviews device locations with the electrical crew before rough-in. A shared markup on the floor plan prevents trim-out conflicts.
- What if the GC's schedule slips?
- Atkins Tech Solutions communicates before a missed window. Low-voltage still has to land in a real rough-in slot; compressing trim-out does not replace missed pulls.
- Do you sub only trim-out if another vendor did a bad rough-in?
