We handle Cat6, Cat6A, fiber, racks, patch panels, pathway coordination, termination, labeling, testing, and closeout documentation. For new construction and renovations, we coordinate directly with the general contractor, electrical contractor, owner, or IT team so cable routes, telecom rooms, device locations, and rough-in timing are decided before they become change orders.

What is structured cabling?
Structured cabling is more than pulling wire from one end of a building to the other. A usable system needs a predictable pathway, clean terminations, consistent labels, a rack layout that can be supported later, and test results that show the installed cable performs as intended. Atkins Tech Solutions designs horizontal and backbone cabling to ANSI/TIA-568 practices so adds, moves, and troubleshooting do not require tracing mystery cables.

New construction and tenant build-outs
Low-voltage work is easiest and least expensive when it is coordinated before ceilings close and walls are finished. On commercial construction and tenant-improvement projects, Atkins Tech Solutions can review drawings, verify drop counts, identify pathway issues, coordinate rough-in, and return for termination, trim-out, testing, and punch-list completion.
We can work as the commercial low-voltage contractor for new construction under a general contractor or electrical contractor, or contract directly with the building owner or tenant.

Existing spaces require a different approach. Before adding cable, we verify the current telecom room, available pathway, ceiling access, existing cabling condition, rack capacity, and how the work can be completed without disrupting operations. Cat6, Cat6A, or fiber?
The correct medium depends on the application, distance, equipment, environment, and expected life of the building. Atkins Tech Solutions makes the recommendation from the project requirements rather than defaulting every job to the most expensive cable. - Cat6 remains a strong fit for many standard commercial data, voice, camera, and access-point deployments
- Cat6A is often the better choice for new construction, higher-performance links, and projects where additional PoE and 10-gigabit headroom justify the larger cable

Labeling, testing, and handoff
