What we install
Commercial Technology Services
Low-voltage installation and managed IT for businesses — one partner from quote to completion.
We install and support commercial technology — structured cabling, fiber, security, Wi-Fi, AV, conference rooms, and managed IT. Select a service below to see scope, process, and FAQs.
Structured Cabling
A commercial network is only as dependable as the cabling behind it. Atkins Tech Solutions designs and installs structured cabling for offices, warehouses, retail spaces, restaurants, multi-tenant properties, and commercial build-outs across Eastern Pennsylvania and Northern New Jersey. We handle Cat6, Cat6A, fiber, racks, patch panels, pathway coordination, termination, labeling, testing, and closeout documentation. For new construction and renovations, we coordinate directly with the general contractor, electrical contractor, owner, or IT team so cable routes, telecom rooms, device locations, and rough-in timing are decided before they become change orders.
- Cat6, Cat6A, and fiber installation
- Rack, patch panel, and cable management
Network & Data Cabling
Need new data drops, a cleaner network closet, cabling for access points or cameras, or a network extension into renovated space? Atkins Tech Solutions installs and repairs commercial network cabling for offices, warehouses, retail properties, restaurants, and multi-tenant buildings across Eastern Pennsylvania and Northern New Jersey. This page is focused on the practical day-to-day network cabling work businesses need: moves, adds, changes, PoE drops, rack cleanup, re-termination, fiber uplinks, and making undocumented infrastructure supportable again.
- Moves, adds, and changes for existing offices
- PoE drops for cameras, Wi-Fi, and network devices
Fiber Optic Cabling
Fiber is the backbone when copper distance, bandwidth, or electrical conditions are the wrong fit. Atkins Tech Solutions installs commercial fiber optic cabling for offices, warehouses, restaurants, retail, and construction projects across Eastern Pennsylvania and Northern New Jersey. Typical scopes are indoor and on-property links: MDF to IDF, floor-to-floor risers, suite-to-suite backbone, and building-to-building runs on the same campus. Fiber is planned with pathway, termination, testing, and closeout documentation — the same handoff standard used on copper structured cabling — so the owner's IT team or MSP can support it after we leave.
- Backbone fiber between MDF, IDF, floors, and buildings
- Single-mode and multimode based on distance and equipment
Business Wi-Fi
Business Wi-Fi should be designed around the building, the people using it, and the devices that cannot afford to disconnect — not around a rule of thumb for square footage. Atkins Tech Solutions surveys, designs, cables, installs, and configures commercial Wi-Fi for offices, warehouses, restaurants, retail spaces, hospitality properties, and multi-tenant buildings across Eastern Pennsylvania and Northern New Jersey. We work with UniFi and other business-grade platforms depending on the client's standards and requirements.
- Floor-plan AP layout and coverage planning
- UniFi and other business-grade AP platforms
Security Cameras / CCTV
We place cameras for coverage and retention needs — not just maximum count. PoE cabling, NVR storage configuration, and secure remote access setup are all part of a complete commercial camera install.
- IP camera and NVR system design
- PoE cabling and clean wire management
Access Control
We install readers, controllers, power supplies, and door hardware with code-aware coordination. Cloud and on-prem options are available depending on how you manage users and audit trails.
- Card readers, key fobs, and mobile credentials
- Electric strikes, maglocks, and door hardware
Low-Voltage Installation
Atkins Tech Solutions works as the commercial low-voltage contractor for new construction, tenant improvements, renovations, and technology upgrades. We coordinate the physical infrastructure and device work that sits between the electrician, IT provider, security vendor, AV equipment, and construction schedule. A single ATS scope can include structured cabling, network wiring, wireless access points, security cameras, access control, commercial AV, and related low-voltage device installation — reducing the number of trades a GC or owner has to coordinate.
- Single low-voltage trade for GC projects
- Rough-in, trim-out, and device installation
Site Surveys & Documentation
Before anyone should be quoting drops or hanging access points, somebody has to walk the building. We survey the space, document what's there, and lay out what it needs — drop counts, device locations, pathway, and what it takes to get it done. You get a written deliverable, not a verbal walkthrough and a number.
- Floor-plan wireless AP layout for construction and renovations
- New construction and renovation planning, not just Wi-Fi
Wireless Site Surveys
Reliable commercial Wi-Fi starts before the access points are mounted. Atkins Tech Solutions uses building plans, walkthrough information, expected usage, construction conditions, and the client or IT team's requirements to plan wireless access-point locations before the cabling is installed. For new construction and renovations, this floor-plan-based wireless planning answers an important field question early: where should the PoE drops be installed so the access points end up where the wireless design actually needs them?
- Floor-plan review and preliminary AP placement
- PoE drop locations coordinated before rough-in
Commercial AV & Audio
This page covers background music, paging, speakers, displays, and distributed commercial AV for restaurants, retail, hospitality, and workplace environments. If the project is a meeting room, huddle room, boardroom, Teams Room, Zoom Room, camera/microphone system, or video-conferencing space, use our dedicated [conference room AV installation](/services/conference-room-av) service instead.
- 70V distributed audio for restaurants and retail
- Multi-zone source routing and volume control
Conference Room AV
A conference room fails when the display, camera, microphones, table, network, and meeting platform are treated as separate projects. Atkins Tech Solutions builds the physical conference room as one system: display mounting, camera placement, room audio, table connectivity, network cabling, equipment installation, and commissioning for huddle rooms through boardrooms across Eastern Pennsylvania and Northern New Jersey. Rooms can be designed around Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Meet, or a bring-your-own-device workflow depending on the client's IT standard.
- Huddle rooms, conference rooms, and boardrooms
- Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Google Meet rooms
Microsoft Teams Rooms
A Teams room is where AV, cabling, and IT all meet, which is exactly why it tends to fall between vendors. We build the room end to end: cabling and power coordination, display and camera mounting, table connectivity, and commissioning — then hand tenant and account configuration to whoever manages the client's Microsoft environment.
- Yealink and Logitech Teams Rooms hardware
- Display, camera, and touch console mounting
Restaurant POS Cabling & Networks
POS installers show up expecting live, tested drops at every terminal, KDS, printer, and access point. When that cabling isn't there, opening day slips. We do a lot of this work: we cable the location, separate the POS network from guest Wi-Fi, and bundle the cameras and sound while the ceiling is still open.
- Cabled and tested drops for terminals, KDS, and printers
- POS network separated from guest Wi-Fi
Managed IT Support
We support the technology commercial clients use every day: help desk, proactive monitoring, backup, cybersecurity, Microsoft 365, and VoIP — whether we built the network or inherited it. You get a local team that documented your environment and knows the building, instead of a call center reading a script.
- Help desk and remote support
- Proactive monitoring and patch management
Cable Testing & Certification
A cable that gets a link light is not automatically a cable that has been properly tested and documented. Atkins Tech Solutions provides commercial copper testing, troubleshooting, labeling, and project-specific certification testing for new installations, tenant improvements, rack remediation, moves/adds/changes, and projects where the owner, GC, manufacturer, or specification requires formal results. The test requirement should be defined before the quote — not discovered at punch list.
- Test level defined before the quote
- New installs, retrofits, and inherited plants
Network Closet & Rack Remediation
Years of additions can turn an MDF or IDF into a troubleshooting problem: unlabeled cabling, unknown patching, abandoned equipment, failed terminations, oversized patch cords, crowded racks, and no documentation. Atkins Tech Solutions audits and remediates commercial network closets while protecting the systems that still need to remain online. The goal is not to make the rack photograph well. The goal is to make the infrastructure supportable.
- Audit before touching production
- Salvage what should stay
Smart Hands & Field Deployment
Your engineers do not need to fly to every site just because the work requires a ladder, a rack, a cable pull, or a pair of hands in front of the equipment. Atkins Tech Solutions provides physical field execution for MSPs, IT providers, VARs, and technology integrators — including rack-and-stack, structured cabling, AP installation, MDF/IDF work, commercial AV / Teams Rooms, site surveys, equipment swaps, troubleshooting support, testing, photos, and closeout. Your client stays your client. ATS handles the physical field scope.
- Your client stays your client
- Rack-and-stack, cabling, APs, and closets
