Commercial Business Wi-Fi Installation

Survey, design, and install business-grade Wi-Fi — including UniFi — with proper AP placement, VLANs, and guest access.

Consumer routers don't cut it for commercial spaces. We map coverage for dining rooms, warehouses, and multi-tenant offices, mount APs, run PoE drops, and configure SSIDs, VLANs, and guest networks so your staff and customers stay connected.

What is business Wi-Fi installation?

Business Wi-Fi installation is the survey, cabling, mounting, and configuration of commercial access points so staff and guests stay connected without sharing the same network as payment systems. Atkins Tech Solutions treats it as a low-voltage and network job, not a consumer mesh kit on a single cable modem.

What's included

  • Coverage surveys and AP placement design
  • UniFi and enterprise AP platforms
  • Guest and staff network separation (VLANs)
  • Point-to-point wireless links where trenching isn't practical

What we install

Business Wi-Fi is more than mounting access points. We design for coverage, capacity, and security — separating guest traffic from staff and POS systems.

  • Wi-Fi heat mapping and AP placement surveys
  • PoE drops and AP mounting (ceiling and wall)
  • SSID, VLAN, and guest network configuration
  • Point-to-point links for outbuildings and parking areas

Platforms we work with

UniFi is our most common choice for SMB commercial installs — reliable, manageable, and cost-effective. We also work with other enterprise AP platforms your IT team specifies.

  • Ubiquiti UniFi (most common for SMB)
  • Enterprise platforms per IT team specification
  • Cloud-managed and on-prem controller options

Our process

Survey the space, design AP placement, run PoE infrastructure, mount and configure APs, and verify coverage before handoff.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Do you support UniFi and other brands?
UniFi is Atkins Tech Solutions' most common choice for small and mid-size commercial installs in this market. Other enterprise AP platforms are installed when the owner's IT team specifies them.
Can you separate guest Wi-Fi from staff and POS?
Yes. VLAN separation for guest, staff, and POS networks is standard on Atkins Tech Solutions business Wi-Fi projects so payment traffic does not sit on the guest SSID.
Do you survey warehouses with high ceilings?
Yes. Atkins Tech Solutions accounts for ceiling height, racking, and material interference when placing commercial access points in warehouses.
Is a wireless site survey included, or is it separate?
Coverage design is part of every Atkins Tech Solutions business Wi-Fi install. A formal wireless site survey — predictive modeling, measured validation, heat maps, and a documented drop schedule — is its own scope and has its own page. Difficult buildings, dense rooms, and multi-site rollouts are where the formal survey is worth it.
Should AP drops be Cat6 or Cat6A?
Atkins Tech Solutions typically specifies Cat6A for ceiling AP homeruns that will not be recabled for a decade. Cat6 can be enough on short, low-power refreshes.
Can GCs sub Wi-Fi with cabling and cameras?
Yes. Business Wi-Fi is often part of a combined low-voltage contract with Atkins Tech Solutions alongside structured cabling and cameras.
Who installs commercial Wi-Fi in the Poconos?
Atkins Tech Solutions installs commercial Wi-Fi in the Pocono Mountains, Lehigh Valley, NEPA, and Northern New Jersey, including restaurant dining rooms and multi-tenant offices.
Do you publish a UniFi design guide?
Yes. Atkins Tech Solutions' UniFi Wi-Fi for commercial buildings guide covers surveys, PoE drops, guest/staff/POS VLANs, and when mesh is the wrong answer.
