Microsoft Teams Room Installation
Yealink and Logitech Teams Rooms — displays, cameras, table connectivity, cabling, and room commissioning.
A Teams room is where AV, cabling, and IT all meet, which is exactly why it tends to fall between vendors. We build the room end to end: cabling and power coordination, display and camera mounting, table connectivity, and commissioning — then hand tenant and account configuration to whoever manages the client's Microsoft environment.

What is a Microsoft Teams Room?
A Microsoft Teams Room is a conference space with dedicated certified hardware — a compute unit, camera, microphones, speakers, and a touch console — that joins Teams meetings from the room itself instead of from someone's laptop. It requires both a physical install and Microsoft tenant configuration, which is why the work often gets split between an installer and an IT provider.
What's included
- Yealink and Logitech Teams Rooms hardware
- Display, camera, and touch console mounting
- Table connectivity and concealed cabling
- Room commissioning with your IT team's tenant setup
A Teams Room vs a laptop and a TV
Comparison table
| Microsoft Teams Room | Laptop plugged into a display | |
|---|---|---|
| Starting a meeting | One tap on the room console | Find the cable, switch the input, share audio |
| Who the far end hears | Room microphones covering the table | Whoever is closest to the laptop |
| Who the far end sees | Room camera framing everyone | One person, lit from below |
| Room shows as bookable | Yes — has its own resource account | No, it's someone's calendar |
| Support burden | Managed and monitored like any endpoint | A new problem in every meeting |
The hardware cost is usually less than the meeting time a bad room wastes in a quarter.
What we install
Huddle rooms through boardrooms. We size the camera, audio, and display to the room rather than to a bundle, and we run the cabling and table connectivity so the finished room doesn't have wires draped across it.
- Yealink and Logitech certified Teams Rooms systems
- Single and dual display configurations
- Ceiling and table microphone options for larger rooms
- Table connectivity boxes, HDMI, USB-C, and power coordination
Matching the system to the room
Teams Rooms hardware is sold in tiers for a reason. The all-in-one bar that's perfect for a four-person huddle room cannot pick up a fourteen-foot table, and a boardroom system in a huddle room is money spent on capability nobody uses. We size it from room depth, table length, ceiling height, and surfaces during the walkthrough.
- Huddle and focus rooms — all-in-one video bar, single display
- Medium conference rooms — video bar with expansion microphones or a separate camera
- Large rooms and boardrooms — PTZ camera, ceiling microphone array, dual displays
- Front-of-room console versus table console based on how the room is used
Yealink and Logitech
Both are Microsoft-certified and both are solid; they're just built around different assumptions. We deploy whichever fits the room and, more importantly, whichever your IT provider already standardizes on — a fleet of one platform is far easier to support than a building of mixed hardware. If you have no standard yet, we'll recommend one and explain why rather than quoting whatever we have on the shelf.
- Yealink and Logitech certified Teams Rooms systems
- Windows-based and Android-based room systems depending on requirements
- Consistent hardware across rooms so your techs support one platform
- Existing displays reused when they're the right size and still healthy
What we need from your IT team
A Teams room is half install and half Microsoft configuration, and the install stalls without a few things from whoever owns the tenant. We send this list early so nobody is standing in a finished room waiting on a license.
- A resource account for the room, with the Teams Rooms license assigned
- A wired network drop at the room location, with any required firewall access
- Confirmation of display resolution and any conference room naming standard
- Someone available at commissioning to sign the room in
Why conference rooms disappoint people
Almost every bad room we get called into has the same handful of causes, and none of them are the compute box. Audio is underbuilt for the room, the camera is too far from the table to frame anyone, connectivity at the table was skipped so guests can't present, or nobody commissioned the room and showed staff how to start a meeting. We design against those specifically.
- Microphone coverage sized to the actual table, not the box's spec sheet
- Camera placement and framing verified from the far seats
- Table connectivity so a guest with a laptop isn't stuck
- Commissioning plus a short staff walkthrough at handoff
For IT companies and MSPs
This has become a lot of what we do for MSP partners, and clients love the rooms once they're in. It also tends to be work an MSP would rather not own — it's ladders, mounts, millwork coordination, and cable management, not tenant administration. We build the room; you keep the Microsoft environment, licensing, and support. We do not pitch managed services at your client, and we'll sign a non-solicitation agreement naming your clients before the install.
- Physical room build and commissioning under your project name
- Tenant, licensing, and account configuration stay with your team
- Priced for markup or pass-through billing through your PSA
- Signed client non-solicitation on request
Coordination that keeps rooms on schedule
Teams rooms usually land in the middle of a build-out or a furniture install, so the cabling, power, millwork, and display mount all have to line up. We coordinate those with the GC, electrician, or furniture vendor before the hardware shows up rather than after.
- Power and data locations confirmed before drywall or millwork
- Table core and connectivity coordinated with the furniture vendor
- Display mount blocking confirmed with the GC
- Network drop requirements sent to your IT team up front
How it runs
Room walkthrough, hardware recommendation sized to the space, cabling and mounting, then commissioning and a walkthrough with the client so staff can actually start a meeting without calling anyone.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
- Which Teams Rooms hardware do you install?
- Yealink and Logitech are Atkins Tech Solutions' usual platforms for Microsoft Teams Rooms. If your IT provider standardizes on another certified vendor, we install that instead — the room build is the same work.
- Do you configure the Microsoft tenant and licensing?
- On partner projects, no — tenant setup, Teams Rooms licensing, and account configuration stay with the client's IT provider by design. For direct clients without an IT provider, Atkins Tech Solutions can handle setup as part of the scope.
- Can you install a Teams room in an existing conference room?
- Yes. Retrofits into finished rooms are common. Atkins Tech Solutions handles concealed cabling, table connectivity, and mounting in occupied spaces, and schedules around meeting calendars when needed.
- How many rooms can you do at once?
- Multi-room and multi-site rollouts are scheduled in phases with consistent hardware and documentation across rooms. Atkins Tech Solutions confirms the phasing in the quote rather than promising every room in one week.
- What does our IT team need to provide?
- A resource account for the room with the Teams Rooms license assigned, a wired network drop at the room, any required firewall access, and someone available at commissioning to sign the room in. Atkins Tech Solutions sends that list early so the install isn't waiting on a license.
- Yealink or Logitech — which should we pick?
- Both are Microsoft-certified and both are good. The bigger factor is standardizing: a fleet of one platform is easier for your techs to support than mixed hardware. Atkins Tech Solutions deploys whichever your IT provider standardizes on, or recommends one and explains why if you don't have a standard yet.
- Can we reuse the display that's already in the room?
- Often yes, if it's the right size for the room's depth and still healthy. Atkins Tech Solutions checks resolution, inputs, and mounting during the walkthrough and says plainly when replacing it is the better spend.
- Why do conference rooms end up disliked?
- Usually underbuilt audio, a camera too far from the table to frame anyone, no table connectivity so guests can't present, or a room that was never commissioned and explained to staff. Atkins Tech Solutions designs against those four specifically and includes a staff walkthrough at handoff.
- Will you compete with our IT company for the client?
- No. Atkins Tech Solutions does not pitch managed IT or help desk at a partner's client site and will sign a non-solicitation agreement naming your clients before the first visit.
