Wireless planning for construction and renovations

Atkins Tech Solutions routinely works from architectural drawings, tenant-fit-out plans, and field walkthroughs to establish preliminary AP locations before rough-in is finalized. The purpose is to coordinate the physical infrastructure correctly before ceilings and walls make changes expensive.

What ATS currently provides

Depending on scope, Atkins Tech Solutions wireless planning can include floor-plan review, preliminary AP placement, cable-drop locations, pathway planning, Cat6/Cat6A PoE cabling, AP mounting when included, documentation of planned AP locations, and field adjustments during construction when site conditions differ from the drawings.

Working with an outside IT provider

Atkins Tech Solutions does not need to replace the customer's MSP or internal IT department. A common project model is: the IT provider defines the preferred wireless platform and network standards; ATS reviews the physical building and drawings; AP locations are coordinated with the IT provider; ATS installs and labels the required cabling; ATS mounts equipment where included in scope; and the IT provider retains configuration, credentials, policy, licensing, and ongoing network support.

Warehouse and difficult-building planning

Warehouses, tall spaces, metal rack environments, restaurants, and multi-use commercial buildings need more thought than a simple square-footage rule. The floor plan, mounting height, aisles, equipment, and building use should influence the preliminary AP plan before cabling is pulled.

For projects where precise measured RF performance in an existing building is required, that is a different level of survey from ATS's normal preconstruction planning workflow.

ATS's historical strength is floor-plan-based wireless planning for construction, renovations, and cabling projects. ATS has not historically sold standalone measured existing-building RF heatmapping, spectrum analysis, or formal post-install validation reports as a standard service. If that capability is added later with the required tooling and reporting, this page can be expanded without changing its current indexed URL.

UniFi and business Wi-Fi implementation

Once the AP layout and cabling plan are established, Atkins Tech Solutions can also perform the physical commercial business Wi-Fi installation where the project calls for it.
